Inspiration. It is a word that blooms art. With it, we help artists grow.

A New Generation in Art

Inspiration—a word full of meaning. It is a word that blooms art. With aim to highlight, encourage and motivate talented, Dutch visual artists in evolving their craft, inspiration has served as the John and Marine van Vlissingen Art Foundation’s leading principle, guiding new generations of artists, since 2008.

About the John & Marine van Vlissingen Art Foundation

John & Marine van Vlissingen Art Foundation was founded in 2008 by art lovers John en Marine Fentener van Vlissingen – Comtesse de Pourtalès. It aims to promote, encourage, and support contemporary Dutch art.

Every year, the Foundation helps a promising, unknown Dutch artist break through. The fact is that more than 50% of artists in the Netherlands earn less than minimum wage. They often make beautiful things, but struggle to find the customers and genuine appreciation so vital to art.
